Report on an Ordinance

intituled An Ordinance to provide for the incorporation of the Trustees of Inland Lot No. 31 and the buildings

thereon known as Zetland Hall.

The object of this Ordinance is to provide for the incorporation of the trustees

of certain leasehold property held on behalf of

local Lodge of

Freemasons. The common inconveniences experienced from the absence

of Trustees, and the difficulty of tracing them, are peculiarly felt

in a colony like Hongkong.

Section 1 is formal.

Section 2 follows more or less closely the precedent of other

local incorporation Ordinances,

Section 3 is somewhat similar to the vesting clauses of section

6 of the Saint John's Cathedral Church Ordinance, 1899.

Section 4 provides for the appointment of new Trustees and the

notification of their appointment to the Colonial Secretary.

Section 5 relates to the use of the property and is similar to

section 5 of the Union Church Incorporation Ordinance, 1911.

Section 6 follows a common precedent in local Incorporation Ordi-

nances.

Sections7 and 8 provide for the control of the Lodge over the

Trustees.

Section 9 contains definitions.

Section 10 is the usual saving clause.

In my opinion this is an Ordinance to which His Excellency the Governor may properly assent in the name of His Majesty and on His behalf.

Attorney General,

3. 3. 15.
